Who is the course for?
- Those wishing to update their skills in trailer handling and/or satisfy H & S legislation regarding the Safe Use of Trailers at work
- Anyone required to take the trailer test for towing on the road
Pre-requisites
Trainees must hold a full driving licence (CAT 'B') with provisional 'E'.
Duration/Format
This course can be run as a 'stand-alone' course or following on from Basic Trailer Handling

1:2 maximum
Course Content
On-road driving practice would include:-
- Consideration for other road users
- Making good progress/speed limits
- Use of mirrors/shoulder checks and signals
- Continuous observation and assessment of potential hazards
- Correct use of gears and acceleration to achieve smooth progress
- Parking alongside and moving off (kerb)
- Junctions - left and right
- Moving off uphill and downhill
- Traffic islands and lane discipline
- Motorway towing (if appropriate)
- Displaying a high standard of Safety Awareness and a confident 'Professional' driving approach
Facilities/Equipment required
- A fully road legal combination
- The trailer should not be laden (A livestock trailer encourages the use of external mirrors)
- Copies of the test schedule and marking sheets
- A known route to drive, which would indicate all that is covered in the test
- Documentation for the towing vehicle, including full insurance cover

£350+VAT for 1 Day for 2 people.

The full cost of the course is to be paid before the start of the course.
If your place on the course is cancelled, the following will apply:-
- 7 days notice - full fee refunded
- 3-7 days notice - half fee refunded *
- 1-3 days notice - quarter fee refunded *
* if place can be filled then the full fee will be refunded
