Lesley has had lifelong farming connections. She has worked for Dorset County Young Farmer's Clubs as Assistant Organiser and started work with the Agricultural Training Board 20 years ago. It is with this experience that Newlands Training has been developed. Lesley has worked with school leavers on the
Modern Apprenticeship programme and has developed training and assessment skills during that time. Lesley is a member of Lantra Awards Professional Register.
![]() Paul Tuck - Lift Truck Training
Paul Tuck began instructing/teaching in 1977 progressing from cars and commercials to fork Lifts in 1985. He has worked and instructed on farms, and at light industrial locations. Paul instructs on Industrial counterbalance trucks, Rough Terrain Masted and Rough Terrain Telescopic, and is registered with Lantra and Lantra Awards Professional Register.
![]() Rob Hamilton - Health and Safety Training Rob Hamilton is the health & safety and first aid instructor for Newlands Training. Rob spent 25 years in the military, where he was involved in training at all levels gaining vast experience. He believes the unique approach that Newlands Training takes in bringing training to the client in their workplace, is an extremely cost effective solution for clients. ![]() Roland Heming - Tree Surgeon
Roland has been a tree surgeon for 7 years and a Lantra freelance instructor for 4 years. He has instructed at the Royal Agricultural College, Hartpury College. He has worked privately for HRH the Prince of Wales at High Grove, The National Trust and English Nature.
![]() Jez Cock – Tree Surgeon
Originally from Cornwall Jez studied Forestry in the Lake District, he then learnt the ropes within arboriculture with over 16 years’ experience, working throughout the UK, New Zealand and America. Jez has put his experience and techniques into practice and is now a fully qualified Lantra chainsaw and climbing instructor and a NPTC Assessor in both fields.
![]() Jon Bond - ATV and 4x4 off road
Jon farms in East Devon, is a qualified teacher (PGCE, Plymouth University) and accredited instructor/examiner for both NPTC and Lantra (formerly the ATB). He has been delivering vocational training in the agricultural sector since the early 1990’s and has trained students of all abilities.
Qualified at Leeds University in 1981 (BSc,hons Ag Sci) and with operational experience in agriculture since the mid 1970’s, he has managed many large and well respected farming units across the UK before being appointed Head of Academy for Agriculture, Countryside Management and Engineering at Bicton College. Jon combines his hands-on experience and passion for farming with his enthusiasm for passing on important practical skills enjoyed by those in industry. |
